Ingham Reflexology was developed by an American physiotherapist named Eunice Ingham. It is the westernized version of traditional reflexology, modeled on Dr William Fitzgerald’s “Zone Therapy” and modern anatomy.
Hand and Foot Maps detail the reflex areas that correspond to anatomical features of the body. ‘Reflexing’ these areas on the hands and feet initiates a response in the corresponding area of the body. The understanding is that this process stimulates the body’s own natural healing mechanisms to act to restore good health and well-being.
People find that reflexology can:
· Reverse indicators of system dysfunction, for instance constipation, stress, anxiety, migraines and so forth.
· Manage symptoms of organic disease and the effects of treatment, for instance Type 2 Diabetes, cancer and MS
· Act as a preventative measure – regular clients of reflexologists feel that they have better health generally and find that they do not come down with colds or flu or need to take painkillers.

Areas of the feet and hands represent different parts of the body that can be activated to stimulate the body’s own healing systems.
