CRANIO SACRAL REFLEXOLOGY

Cranio Sacral Reflexology is the application of the cranio-sacral concept from osteopathy developed by Dr William Sutherland one hundred years ago that has since been applied to the feet in reflex form.

The founder of the technique is Dr Martine Faure Alderson who has a Reflexology School and Practice in Paris.  Cranio Sacral Reflexology addresses lesions in the Primary Respiratory Mechanism (PRM) which is the rhythm or flow of the Cerebro-Spinal Fluid (CSF).  This rhythm is also expressed in every tissue throughout the body, so it follows that physical or emotional trauma to the body will result in restriction or dysfunction in the Cranio Sacral system and vice versa.

A reflexologist has a highly developed sense of palpation and is trained to detect and assess the dynamic state of the body tissues, within the feet and throughout body. By using the gentle techniques of Cranio-Sacral Reflexology, the practitioner is able to release  strain patterns in the PRM/CSF and support the body to return to its natural balance and ultimate health state.

Cranio-Sacral Reflexology is used when the practitioner needs to:

• Address the original cause of the presenting problem in the body (identified on the spinal reflex or in the fascia).
• Identify the areas of the body where there is disturbed, reduced or cut flow of CSF.
•  ‘Unwind’ chronic conditions.
